    Future Technology Needs

    Over recent meetings the following technology needs have been identifed by the FEA membership. Technology providers are invited to address these needs and respond directly to the FEA secretariat with technical proposals.

    Brownfield

    • How to keep gas flowing?
      • Low gas flow rate in large pipelines
    • How to inhibit hydrates in smaller lines?
    • Hydraulic fluid compatibility
    • Closed loop control – time lag issues
    • Means to meeting OSPAR regulations
    • Means to decommissioning

    Greenfield

    • Cold flow
    • Raw sea water injection (in larger reservoir over long term)
    • Subsea processing/ separators
      • Reliability of controls
      • Proven
    • Reliable on-line OIWM (topsides)
    • Cold flow
    • Cheap non-corrosive material for process pipelines
    • Water cleaner (1-2 ppm)
    • Lean burn turbines (CO 2 emissions)

    In addition the FEA is currently undertaking a Technology Needs survey, in association with the DEA and the PEA. This survey will target over 200 industry representatives will be undertaken in 2005.

    The results of the survey will will be posted on www.technologytradingpost.com on completion.
